tunewiki

four and a half out of five stars
free

A really great app. tunewiki gives you the lyrics to the songs in your iPod's music library as they play. You can sort by song, artist, albums playlists, or you can shuffle. It also gives you the lyrics to youtube videos and radio! Simple, useful, and fun.

Backbreaker

Regular: $0.99
Lite: Free

Four out of five stars

This is a fun, simple game app. It is a football game where you are trying to dodge defenders and gat a touch down. It's easy to use and makes great use of the accelerometer. It also gives you a good challenge on the higher levels.

Here's what you do: Create a player by choosing number, skin color, team, etc., then choose your level and press play. Your football player has the ball, tilt the ipod/iphone to forward to run; side to side to turn. when you approach a defender you have four options: juke left, juke right, spin left, or spin right. Once you pass all of them you can press the button to speed up or press the showboat button. Showboat gets you extra points but it is slower so someone might tackle you from behind. Once you reach the inzone, you start over with more defenders.

This is a great, light app. I reccomend it.

Lemonade Tycoon

Lite: Free
Regular: $1.99

Four out of five stars

Lemonade Tycoon is a fun game app. Like Driver, it is not a quick, simple game. It is good for road trips or for just when you are bored.

Here's a basic summary: You start off with forty dollars, and (if you are good at the game) end up building a lemonade empire. As you go through the game you try to earn three things: money, satisfaction, and popularity. The user starts in the suburbs and, after making enough money, can pay to go to a more populous place such as the mall or the beach. As the game goes on, you can buy items like an ice maker, refrigerator, or juice machine. The user also has to buy supplies to make the lemonade. When you're all done purchasing your items, you go click on the start day button. The screen will go to a video of your little man selling lemonade. You have the choice of skipping this. After he sells his lemonade, it will show you your profit and customer reviews.
Problems I see with this app are that the controls are a little complicated and (for me) it's very hard to make a profit, even when you think you are doing everything right. The graphics could be better but they are pretty good for an app.
Overall this is a fun game, Iwould recommend it.

Civilization Revolution

Lite: Free

Regular: $6.99

Two out of five stars

This game app is pretty bad. I am very disappointed because I love the computer games in this series. I did buy the lite version to see if it was any good, incase it wasn't. It wasnt. The graphics could be a lot better. The controls are also complicated. Here's how it works:

In the start menu, click the start a new game button. Then, select difficulty. After it loads, choose your leader. You then begin gameplay. The user moves his/her little featureless people around (on their turn), trying to take over the world. I would not recommend this app, though I would definitely recommend any of the civilization PC games.
