Urbanspoon is a great restaurant finder app. It works better with the iphone than the ipod touch because it requires internet.
This app opens to a page where it tries to find your current location, you can skip this and enter your city name if you wish. It directs you to a page that looks like a slot machine, the user may lock a certain type of food or price or leave everything open. Shake the ipod and the slots spin. Then, it picks a restaurant. you can click and see the reviews, a map, and information about the food.
The things that I wish were better are that you should be able to save a restaurant to use offline. Also, it tends to be pretty repetitive. A good app for your phone.
